HI! I have a HP Envy 4524 and am running MacOs 12.1 (Monterrey). The printer worked fine for a few years but lately, I have been having some trouble with printing wirelessly and/or with the printer being stuck in idle mode. After I troubleshot that, re-installed drivers etc..it worked again for a bit but now my computer doesnt see my printer at all. When I use the mac setup, it doesnt find the printer when I click the "Add Printer" function. So it's been ghosted, I guess! The printer is connected to the Wifi network and that all works fine and there have been no changes in that regard that could have caused this. At this point. I just want to add the printerr and set it up again but my mac doesnt see it (and neither does the HP Smart software). Help?

Welcome to the HP support communtiy.
I understand that you are unable to add a printer, I am glad to assist you.
This printer supports Airprint, add and print using Airprint.
Set up the printer network connection
Make sure the printer and your Apple device are connected to the same wireless network.
-
On your Apple device, make sure Wi-Fi is turned on and there is a check mark next to the name of your local Wi-Fi network. If you are connected to a different network, tap the name of your network to join it.
-
Check the printer network connection status.
Touch the Wireless icon
or open the Network Settings or Setup menu to view the network connection status.
-
Place the printer within range of the Wi-Fi router signal, and then connect it to the network.
-
Printers with a touchscreen control panel: Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions to select the network name and enter the password.
-
Print from your Apple device
Print documents, photos, and web pages from iPhone and iPad apps with a print feature.
-
Make sure the printer is turned on, cartridges are installed, and the paper you want to print on is loaded in the correct paper tray.
-
Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon.
-
Tap Print or the Print icon
-
Select your printer, and then change print settings such as paper size, number of copies, or page range. Available settings depend on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.
