MFP M480 will not print in color. prints grayscale.
Windows 11.
I believe the printer is not the problem. When I print a supplies status page, I get a color printout. I think it is the print drive or a setting I have not discovered. I have tried everything. I have never before experienced such difficulties with setting up a brand new printer.
Can somebody please help?

Hello RobertOder,
You are correct: if you can make copies or print internal reports in color, that is the confirmation the printer is not the problem.
You can try with different file types like Word, PDF, pictures, web pages etc. and check in the print properties as there is an option (location depends on driver, app etc.) you can change to make things print in color, grayscale, B/W etc.
If you have a second computer maybe you can try to print from there and check. If that is not an option you can uninstall the printer, uninstall drivers, reboot your computer and install drivers back.
If problem persists you can call tech support for driver reinstall help.

I see that you are an HP employee. Can HP offer some help? I am an experienced engineering professional. I have tried everything you suggest, and much more. Clearly there is something wrong with this print driver.
We use both Windows 11 PCs and Mac here. When connected to Mac, the printer prints in Color and BW just fine. But it won't scan to the Mac no matter how hard we try. When connected to PC it will scan but won't print in color.
Can you are someone at HP help us out here? I highly suspect the print drivers are incompatible with the current versions of these operating systems.
Do you have a working number for tech support? I cannot get through to anyone.

@RobertOder Check this: on your PC go to control panel>devices and printer and right click the icon for your printers then select "printer properties from the drop down menu Then click on the device settings tab, scroll down through installable options until you see "device type" and change that to color.
