Hi @RJ3145,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for explaining. Losing HP Smart after upgrading iOS can feel frustrating, especially when your printer is older and you were using it without any subscription fees. Here’s what you need to know:

HP App for iOS

Will It Work With a 10-Year-Old Printer?

  • The HP app supports most printers from 2010 onward, but some older models may have limited functionality.
  • If your printer doesn’t appear in the HP app, you can:
    • Use AirPrint (built into iOS) for basic printing.
    • Or install the printer manually via Wi-Fi Direct or local network.

No Annual Fee

  • The HP app is free for basic features.
  • Paid features like HP+ or Instant Ink are optional; you don’t need them for standard printing.
