Hi @Gem6161,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the automatic duplex (two-sided) printing setting got enabled after your Mac updated to macOS 15.1 (Sequoia). Here's how to adjust the settings to print single-sided.

Open the Document or File you want to print on your Mac.

Select Print (Cmd + P or File > Print).

In the print dialog, check the following:

  • Printer Settings: Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 7400 is selected.
  • Show Details: If you don’t see the full print settings, click the Show Details button to expand the options.

Look for Duplex/Two-Sided Option:

  • You should see a setting related to duplex printing (this might say "Two-Sided," "Duplex," or "Print on Both Sides").
  • Disable it by selecting Off or Long-Edge Binding if it was set to something like "Two-Sided" or "Short-Edge Binding."

Check the Layout or Finishing Section:

  • Sometimes the duplex setting can be found under the Layout or Finishing tab. Ensure it's not set to print on both sides.

Print the Document:

  • Once you’ve set it to one-sided, try printing again.

If this still doesn’t work, you may want to reset your printer settings in the Printers & Scanners settings on macOS.

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 7400 and click the minus (-) sign to remove it.
  3. Add it back by clicking the plus (+) sign and selecting the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

After updating to Sequoia (now 15.1.1, current version), as well as the original Sequoia, I'm having issues printing images from Adobe Photoshop in the actual dimensions spec'd in Photoshop. I've spoken with Adobe, and Apple techs (twice each) who were unaware of the incompatibility between the new Mac OS Sequoia, and HP printers.

After a few calls over the last week or so with HP, a representative was finally aware of this issue. Their resolution:  You need to purchase a new printer. They do not have a driver update for the printer(s) that makes them compatible with our new Sequoia systems.

They recommended their new printer (link below) -- the Officejet pro 8135e which is available through HP as an outright purchase, or a rental with cost per month starting at $12.99 a month (which includes ink cartridges, starting at printing 20 pages a month -- which they keep track of). Any overage in printed sheets results in a $1.00 per 10 sheets over the selected amount in your plan. There are other plans with more estimated printed pages / month available. This printer of course is also available for outright purchase on Amazon for the same price:  $164.99 (as of this writing). Link to Amazon below:

It's annoying that HP's developers won't come up with a software update which deals with newer Apple OS updates.
