HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-in-One Printer

I have always been able to see a list of what I've printed - it was saved somehow in the printer settings. This was great when I lost a document and was able to get it from the print queue and reprint it.  I cannot find anywhere how to set it up for the printer to keep all documents printed. How do I do this? I currently have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 Series.

OK - Your images appear to be from Windows - hopefully a version of Windows that fully supports the printer.

====================================

Printer Software

If you have not yet done so, install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.

NOTES:

HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.

The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it.  If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.

No Sign-in required to use full driver printer software.

Reinstalling?

  • Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
  • If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
  • Restart the computer and log in.
  • If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

>>> Full Feature Software - Web Pack Installation Webpage - Information - Download / Save / (then) Install <<<

HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 EasyStart Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only

In general, the web pack should load -

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver

If asked, opt for the Full Driver to be installed.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.

 Note Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.

  • Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
  • HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
  • HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
  • When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut

I am trying to reinstall my printer (after delete, restart), and it's just sitting on this screen, blank:

@Redheadfsa

OK -

Sorry - I'm confused --

What is the window behind the blank screen?

The "behind window" appears to be a print job dialog -- HP Smart?

Oddly, it (HP Smart) seems to have selected a Microsoft printer / driver.

We know that won't work -- any application or print software must have the printer selected during job configuration.

What are you doing?

Can tell me the steps you followed thus far to install the printer software?

Easy Start can certainly get stuck -- knowing when it is happening might help.

Other apps open --

Certainly you would not have HP Smart open when installing printer software...

HP Smart and installing full driver printer software are different animals --

There are perhaps good reasons to complete one task before opening the other.

?

Maybe close HP Smart and anything else you don't need for the installation of the full driver printer software.

If you want to use HP Smart, make you are signed into the application using your HP Account credentials

AND

When setting up a job, first make sure the printer is selected and not a Microsoft / IPP driver.

If HP Smart cannot find the printer at all -- best check that the printer is even on your network.

I followed your instructions as well as I could. I deleted the old HP software, restarted, tried to download new. I followed your link; HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 EasyStart Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only, selected Download Now, got the big white doing-nothing screen, tried to close the screen and got this:

Redheadfsa_0-1727468158350.png

I clicked on "here", so I guess I got all the software. As for the window that looks like a print window, it was probably just something I forgot to close. I checked, I still don't have the ability to save the printer queue, and I still have no 'advanced options'. Since this is all HP equipment, doesn't anyone know if I should have those abilities with this printer?
Here's the conversation I started in your Facebook chat session (I forgot about the 'advanced'):

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e S/N[Personal Information Removed]. A few things are really driving me crazy about this printer, I cannot print a test page. I cannot download a user manual. I cannot find the option to save everything I print in the print queue. There is also no option to input something printed on both sides and output 2 pages. Can these options be added to the software somehow?

@Redheadfsa

Thanks for getting back to me.

Reminder - Not meant as criticism -- Lots of people miss this one >> Under no circumstances would I share the serial number of one of my devices on Facebook or any other public forum (including our HP Community).  The serial number is one more way to track your "stuff" -- Scammers forage for information and add what they find to their own databases -- don't share anything that is private.

Printer supports 2-sided printing, scanning, and a variety of other features.

If you can get the printer software installed and select the driver in Printer Properties, the rest of the features should fall into place.

Also -- the user manual is available in your printer's home page in one of the provided categories

===================================================

OK - sounds good, including where you clicked "here" -- Silly Easy Start is not always straight forward, I guess.  I have seen it get stuck even when everything is done right.  ??

Is the Printer Software listed in Programs and Features?

Sample - Partial List of software listed in Programs and Features

You do need to be able to Select the Driver in Printer Properties (example in first post, reprinted below).

If you cannot select the "HP" driver in Printer Properties, (then) all your Printing Preferences will reflect whatever else is selected.

DragonFur_1-1727473663635.png

Perhaps you have a "Microsoft" driver selected -- Microsoft "anything" results in skinny, anemic Printing Preferences.

-------------------------------------------------------------

What do you have in Printer Properties > tab Advanced

That is, what is in your list of possible drivers?

AND

If you cannot select the Printer in HP Smart, the application will try to use what is selected.

"Microsoft Pr"... likely won't work as hoped.

Can you select the HP Printer in HP Smart?
