Thank you SO much! This has worked for me. As you say, it took a little while to install but I followed your instructions and was patient. One more thing, during installation I was prompted to open 'Security & Privacy' in System Preferences and click on 'Allow' something by HP to be installed. (A message said it had been blocked but I could unblock it by clicking on 'Allow'.) I hope now this will continue to work and not be a false dawn. However, I have restarted my iMac (Catalina 10.15.7) and have printed two separate documents with no issues. Hurray! Many thanks again. I don't know how to mark this message as solving my problem though, so others will know. Any advice on that? Kind regards, Andy

Please accept my apologies GGeDeTours - this is my lack of knowledge in how these communities work. Someone called BryanCustomPure in this thread came up with a solution that worked for me.
HP Community> Printers> Print Drivers> Re: Malware notification when printing
The only thing that was different to his instructions were that part-way through the installation there was a warning that part of it was blocked by my macOS and I was directed to System Preferences>Security & Privacy where I could tick a box and unblock the HP option. I followed the instructions and then re-started and since then (fingers crossed!) everything has worked okay. I trust this helps.
I can't seem to find a button that would show that BryanCustomPure's suggestion solved the issue. This would help point others towards it.
Kind regards,
Andy

I don't know if my issue fits perfectly with this thread or not. My printer has never stopped printing reliably. My issue is with Easy Scan. First, messages that Easy Scan itself was malware, and Easy Scan wouldn't operate. I installed a newer version, which got rid of the messages, but it still wouldn't work. Tried the Easy Start route - no change. After clicking 'OK' over 50 times for a 'HPDM.framework is malware' message, I finally dragged that file to trash. The messages stopped, but Easy Scan still won't operate. This seems related to the expired certificate issue. Any thoughts? I really rely on scanning, but I also don't want to mess with the printer, which, as I said, is working fine.

Halp! I have the same issue. But i can't uninstall the HP Easy Start (and i am the admin on my laptop). The option is grayed out. Have the latest Apple OS , have downloaded all the latest HP drivers. Problem still seems to be happening . Any other suggestions (short of changing printer model and brand).

Bryan, it is so nice of you to help so many people. When I try to download any of yours or anyones link, my computer stops half way thru and says they 'appear to be an invalid download file'. I have tried many times and have been sitting here for hours.
I am not that computer savvy so I was looking for someone to type out the link, I was not sure where to do that.
When I also saw where you said to right click and try to save the file then download, I can't seem to be able to do that either. I can copy it but can't seem to paste it where it needs to go. I am just at my wits end and do not know where to go from here. I my need to need to take my computer for help. 😞
