Hello,
According with the specs of the printer M553dn (B5L25A), it has 1GB of memory (can be upgrade to 2GB).
Can anyone tell me what kind of memory is this 1GB? volatile? non-volatile? is there any non-volatile memory in this printer?
Thanks for your support.
Laure.

Yes, the printer has non volatile memory, it's needed for the printer to be functional.

This printer also contains either an EMMC or a harddrive that stores the operating system.

Hi Repairatrooper,
You info is interesting, in fact, the original question is about this type of memory because I am doing a security assessment to find if information could be stored in a non-volatile memory that could be retrieved after use of the printer.
How can I get the actual info about what type of memory is in this printer? In the specs, I cannot see any info related with eMMC/SSD.

The eMMC is basically a small SSD drive. It is non-volatile just like a USB memory stick or other solid state memory device. Most of these printers would ship with a eMMC. HP does offer the option of a FIPS compliant harddrive. Standard SSD devices are not supported and drives must be Self Encrypting.
