Hi @ETTato,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 is showing the message “There is a problem with the supply system” and will not print, even after replacing the ink cartridges purchased from Amazon. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Perform a full power reset
Turn the printer on and wait until the error message appears.
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while it is still on, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect and power it back on.

Remove and reseat all ink cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and remove all cartridges.
Reinstall them one by one, pressing firmly until each cartridge clicks into place.

Check cartridge compatibility
Confirm the cartridges are genuine HP cartridges designed specifically for the OfficeJet Pro 9018.
Cartridges from a different region, refilled cartridges, or incompatible series can trigger a supply system error.

Clean cartridge and printhead contacts
Remove all cartridges again.
Using a dry, lint-free cloth, gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and inside the carriage, then reinstall the cartridges.

Inspect the printhead seating
With the cartridges removed, check that the printhead is fully seated and locked in place.
A loose or misaligned printhead can cause the printer to report a supply system failure.

Restart the printer without cartridges
Turn the printer on with all cartridges removed and wait until it prompts for cartridges.
Power the printer off, reinstall all cartridges, and turn it back on.

Allow ink system initialization
Leave the printer powered on and idle for at least 10 minutes after startup.
This allows the printer to complete ink system checks and recalibration.

Identify persistent supply system failure
If the same message returns immediately after startup and cartridge reseating, the issue is not caused by the ink cartridges themselves.
On this model, this usually indicates a failing printhead or internal ink delivery system.

I hope this helps.
