What a mess! I downloaded HP Easy Start but the uninstaller is greyed out. I deleted the files that were appearing in the pop up window, but that is obviously not a solution. My printer doesn't work. What?? And the "solution" here has a link that goes nowhere.

After 3 hours and trying different solutions that didn’t work I cane across this:
open HP Easy Start
with HP Easy Start open in your window go up top and highlight HP Easy Start and tab down to Uninstall Software
This removed the pop ups. I then reinstalled the software and printed with no issues.

After installing the software provided in the link, I continued to receive the HPDM.framerwork error message. Based on suggestion of another user, I moved that folder into the Trash Bin on my mac and the message stopped appearing. I am once again able to print.

Try this:
I tried multiple times and I could tell I was making progress, but I kept getting those crazy messages. Here's what worked:
1. IMPORTANT! Use the HP Uninstaller App to uninstall the whole mess - any and all HP Apps. There's a lot that CleanMyMac X did not find. Then go back with another uninstaller and check again. HP Easy Setup was still installed.
2. Restart
3. Download the package from FTP. I used Brave to download it. The link is: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...
4. Install that package.
5. Install HP Easy Setup, it will guide you through the rest to reinstall all your apps.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus and MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.7. The popup "HPDM.framework will damage your computer" will not go away. Should I uninstall HP software and reinstall it? Will the link provided earlier in this string also apply for my 8600 N911g printer?

Yes, and yes. Look at the steps I recommend just before your entry. That was the exact scenario I was in (MBP on Catalina, HP OfficeJet 8600 911a) and things are now working fine for me. Use the HP Uninstaller.

FYI -- HP admitted fault. Refer to the following: https://www.theregister.com/2020/10/23/hp_printer_macos/
- "HP's printer driver software is cryptographically signed with a certificate that macOS uses to determine whether the application is legit and can be trusted. However, that certificate was [ ] revoked through an XProtect update, causing the software to be rejected by" Catalina and Mojave.
- "HP Inc asked Apple to revoke its printer driver code-signing certificates. It appears this request backfired as it left users unable to print."
- HP said, "We unintentionally revoked credentials on some older versions of Mac drivers. This caused a temporary disruption for those customers and we are working with Apple to restore the drivers."
Using the driver installation package (thank you BryanCustomPure) and the steps I describe above should resolve the issue.
