Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased an open box HP Envy 6555e printer and it did not come with the setup cartridges.  How can I bypass in order to continue setup?   I searched to board for other responses, and it appears instructions are sent to the individual's inbox rather than posted in the community for other users.

Thanks for all of your assistance.  I wasn't successful following the instructions from the other post.

I finally succeeded in getting HP Support via Facebook Messenger today.  They had me follow the steps below.  After a pause of about a minute or two, a firmware update was pushed onto my printer.  The printer momentarily went back to the screen asking for the setup cartridges, and then proceeded on to the alignment.  So I finally have a working printer.  Hopefully this will be helpful to someone else.

Perform the power drain on the printer: 1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet. 2. Press and hold the power button on the printer for 20 seconds. 3. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in. This should reset the printer.

Hi, BeemerBiker
Still no response on this.  How do I get Admin attention?

HP Recommended

I am trying to find the answer.

In the meantime, try to contact an HP agent.  Tell them you bought genuine HP ink and provide the serial number to show the ink has not expired and is under warranty.  Alternately, tell them you cannot sign up for instant ink as it keeps asking for the setup cartridges.

How to contact an HP agent:
Sign in to your support page
Select the product you need help with and scroll down to support options.
Select "Contact us". You can change country and language if necessary.

I was advised to remove ink cartridges and reset  printer to factory defaults.  After that I had to open HP app and follow instructions.  All that without cartilages installed. When I was asked to install setup cartridges, I had to install just regular ink cartridges. After that I was able to complete install.  All that was done with help of HP chat support.
