Moved countries and need an agent to perform a Regionalization Reset on my out-of-warranty printer"

I notified the moderator of the problem.

Changing the region code can be difficult as described here.

When an agent contacts you ensure that the agent is familiar with the OS you are using. If the agent is in a different time zone try to get one in your time zone. If that is not possible you may need to choose the best time to make a contact.

I read that only 3 or 4 region changes are allowed. It depends on which AI bot I ask.

You may need WhatsApp to work through the region reset procedure.

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.
2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.
3. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.
4. The cartridges must be genuine HP.
5. Make sure HP Smart App is installed.
6. If the printer is not under warranty, then the ink cartridges need to be in the warranty period.

The cartridge is expired and I want to install 680 instead of 652 because I am in India and the call and whatsApp support said I can't help.  So I came here for help.

Hi @divyanshu27g,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To better understand the situation, could you please clarify a few details?

  • From which country/region did you move to India?
  • Is the old region cartridge (the one previously used in the printer) the cartridge that has expired?
  • Or is the new cartridge purchased in India showing as expired?

We can certainly check whether a one-time regionalization reset may be possible, but first we'll need a bit more information.

Please share clear photos of:

  1. The old region HP cartridges that were previously used in the printer.
  2. The new HP cartridges were purchased in India.
  3. Any error message shown on the printer display or in the HP app.

Also, have you already had a regional reset performed previously on this printer? If yes, please let us know when it was done, as that information can be important.

Please ensure that both the old and new cartridges are genuine HP cartridges, as regionalization cannot be performed using third-party, refilled, or non-HP cartridges.

Once we have the photos and the details above, we'll be happy to review the situation and see if a regional reset attempt is available for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
