I am trying to print sequentially numbered tickets with 10 to a page. Microsoft tells me to select Multiple pages per sheet but the printer then defaults to A3. How can I make it stay on A4?

Hi @GarforthCC, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the printer driver is overriding the page size when selecting "Multiple pages per sheet." Here are a few ways to fix this and ensure it stays on A4:

Solution 1: Manually Set A4 Paper Size in Printer Settings

  1. Open the Print dialog in Microsoft Word (or the application you’re using).
  2. Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  3. Under the Paper/Quality tab, ensure that the Paper Size is set to A4 (210 x 297 mm).
  4. Click Apply and OK to save changes before printing.

Solution 2: Adjust Page Layout in Microsoft Word

Instead of relying on the "Multiple pages per sheet" option, try manually formatting the tickets:

  1. Create a table with 2 columns and 5 rows.
  2. Adjust the row height and column width to fit 10 tickets per A4 page.
  3. Enter your ticket numbers manually or use Word's Mail Merge feature to auto-generate sequential numbers.

Solution 3: Use PDF Instead

If the problem persists:

  1. Print to Microsoft Print to PDF instead of the printer.
  2. Open the PDF file and print from Adobe Acrobat or another PDF reader.
  3. Ensure Page Size is set to A4 before printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
