Does HP have any real people that I can talk to about  my issue?    Do They have real tech support people, or just virtual Goons?

Hi @Grouchy000,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 4511 All-In-One Printer is not connecting to your new EERO router, even after turning off the 5.0GHz band, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Network Name (SSID) and Password: Ensure that you have entered the correct SSID (network name) and password for your EERO network during the setup process on your printer. A small mistake here can lead to connectivity issues.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Turn off both your printer and EERO router.
  • Wait for a few seconds and then turn them back on.
  • Allow them to fully restart and establish a connection.

Check Wireless Network Mode:

  • Access your EERO router's settings and make sure it's using a compatible wireless mode that your printer supports (e.g., 802.11b/g/n).
  • Some older devices may not connect to newer routers if they use advanced wireless modes.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP ENVY 4511 printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues with new routers.

Wireless Isolation/Client Isolation: Ensure that the EERO router does not have a "Wireless Isolation" or "Client Isolation" feature enabled. These features can prevent devices on the same network from communicating with each other.

Reset Printer Network Settings: If you've previously connected the printer to a different network, you may need to reset its network settings. Consult your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.

Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  • If your EERO router and printer both support WPS, you can try using it for an easier setup.
  • Press the WPS button on your EERO router, then follow the printer's instructions for connecting via WPS.

Update Router Firmware: Ensure that your EERO router has the latest firmware installed. Router firmware updates can sometimes improve compatibility with devices.

Check for MAC Address Filtering: Verify that your EERO router does not have MAC address filtering enabled, which can restrict which devices can connect to the network based on their MAC addresses.

Temporary 2.4GHz Network: If your EERO router allows you to set up a separate 2.4GHz network, try creating a temporary 2.4GHz network and see if the printer can connect to that. Some older devices may only support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your HP ENVY 4511 printer and set it up as if it were a new device, following the setup instructions carefully.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
