HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP 8610 printer is listed as ARM Compatible but I have tried EVERYTHING and still cannot find a driver that is specific to Windows 11 with ARM based compatibility.  Have deleted the printer drivers and reset them to no avail.

Hi @Arnie9g,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 printer does not currently have specific Windows 11 ARM-based drivers available. However, you can try the following solutions to work around the issue and get your printer working on your ARM-based Windows 11 device:

1. Use Windows Built-in Printer Drivers

Windows often includes built-in drivers that support older printers. Here's how to use them:

  • Uninstall Existing Drivers:
    1. Press Win + R, type control, and press Enter to open the Control Panel.
    2. Go to Devices and Printers.
    3. Right-click your printer and select Remove device.
    4. Uninstall any related HP software from Apps & features.
  • Add the Printer Manually:
    1. In Devices and Printers, click Add a printer.
    2. Select The printer I want isn’t listed.
    3. Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
    4. Select Use an existing port (e.g., USB001 for USB connections).
    5. Choose Microsoft Update Catalog and look for a generic HP OfficeJet or similar driver.
    6. Complete the installation.

2. Use the Universal Print Driver (UPD)

HP provides Universal Print Drivers (UPD) that may work:

  • Download the HP Universal Print Driver from the HP Support website.
  • Install the driver and follow the prompts to connect your printer.

3. Install Using Basic or Compatibility Mode

If the latest drivers are not ARM-compatible:

  1. Download the Windows 10 x64 driver for your printer from the HP website.
  2. Right-click the downloaded file, go to Properties, and open the Compatibility tab.
  3. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 10.
  4. Install the driver.

4. Use HP Smart App

HP's Smart App is compatible with many printers and ARM-based devices:

  1. Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Open the app and follow the steps to add your printer.

You will want to download the SMART UPD driver as the standard UPD does not support ARM products.
