My HP Color Laserjet MFP M283fdw does not have a setting for #9 Envelopes

I just got a new computer and now my HP Color Laserjet MFP M283fdw printer does not have a setting to print on #9 Envelopes.  It printed #9 envelopes on my old computer, but now it doesn't on my new computer.  How do I get it to do so?   Thanks

Presumably the printer supports all the features it has supported in the past.

Perhaps you had created a custom paper size form.  ?

#9 envelope measures 3.875 x 8.875 inches

OR

Dimensions (mm) 98.4mm × 225.4mm

If you don't find the size in the list of standard paper sizes, the printer supports the paper size as a Custom Size Paper Form.

Installing the full driver printer software provides access to the full range of the printer's features, including standard and, when created, Custom Paper sizes.

Check that Printer Properties is set to the installed HP Driver and not an IPP / Microsoft Driver that does not support your paper sizes (standard or custom).

When printing the envelope, check for the paper size in the list -- if the size is (still) not listed, enter the dimensions of the envelope in Printing Options.

"Offline Use Only" installation packs and packages marked as "Full Software Solution" can be used for a network connected or a USB connected environment.

Be sure to unplug the USB cable between the printer and the computer before loading the software.  Re-connect the USB cable when instructed to do so, generally near the end of the successful installation of the printer software.

Ensure that Printer Properties is set to your installed HP driver and not the IPP / Microsoft drivers.

Right-Click on Printer > Printer Properties > Tab Advanced

Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Select Printer

• Driver:  Select the HP driver as opposed to the Microsoft / IPP class driver
• Reprint later:  Select Keep all documents
• All Jobs Default:  Printing Defaults

Job Configuration -- Print Envelopes

Envelopes can be of a supported standard size or - if / as supported on the printer model -- a Custom size within the range of "custom sizes" supported by the printer.

Contributing factors include:

• Plain paper
• No scallops, exposed metal clips
• No foil lined
• White or cream color is best 
• Windows -- Word > Mailing > Envelopes printing requires the full driver printer software to have been installed to gain access to the full range of Printing Preferences
• Windows - Custom Paper Size Form -- If /  As needed
• Windows -- Printer Properties > Tab Advanced > Driver should be selected as the installed HP driver and NOT the Microsoft / IPP driver
• Create Envelope - Setup

Word includes a Paper Tray selection setting that can impact your printing results.

If you are using Word → Options → Advanced and the print setup to select the Tray,

Verify the Default Tray setting is appropriate for your printer and your current print job (envelopes).

Adjust / Set the Default Tray to be used in Word

Word > File > Options > Advanced

Scroll down to Print

Select Default tray > Select OK to save and exit
