My HP Deskjet 3050 J610 Series printer will not print anything from the internet (e.g. email). It does print from various applications ( e.g Microsoft word, Wordpad)?

@jjc6489, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 3050 J610a prints correctly from applications like Word and WordPad but not from the internet (such as emails or web pages), the issue is most likely software-related, rather than a hardware or printer driver problem. Here are some targeted steps to fix it:
Check Your Default Printer
Make sure your Deskjet 3050 is set as the default printer:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click on your HP Deskjet 3050.
- Click "Set as default" if it's not already.
Try Printing from a Different Browser
Some browsers can cause printing issues:
- If you're using Microsoft Edge, try printing from Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
- Or try pressing Ctrl + P from your browser to open the print dialog.
If it prints fine from other browsers, the issue is likely with the original browser's configuration.
Update or Reset the Browser
- Clear cache and cookies.
- Check for browser updates.
- Consider resetting the browser settings to default if printing still fails.
Use “System Dialog” for Printing
Sometimes the browser’s print preview causes issues.
- Press Ctrl + P on the webpage.
- Click “More settings” or “Print using system dialog” (usually at the bottom).
- Choose your printer from the list and try printing.
Check Pop-up or Script Blocking Extensions
If you're using browser extensions (e.g., ad blockers or privacy tools), they might interfere with printing:
- Disable all extensions temporarily and try printing.
- Especially look out for script blockers or PDF-related extensions.
Check PDF Handling (for Email Attachments)
If you're printing PDFs from email, ensure they fully load before printing.
- Open the PDF in your browser, download it, then open it in Adobe Reader or Word to print.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
Although it may not help browser issues directly, this tool can detect config problems:

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
