macOS 12.0 Monterey

My HP Easy Scan Software got very buggy, so I deleted it and tried to reinstall but it won't do it. When I try to re-download the software, it just says "No firmware updates are available" although I have uninstalled the software from my Mac. BTW, I have OS Sonoma 14.4.1 but the OS choices only went up to Monterey here. Anyway, the HP Easy Scan software was super buggy before I tried deleting with the plan to reinstall-- it crashed every time I tried to "edit" or "batch."

Thank you for any suggestions.

@JenniferLeigh, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Reinstall HP Easy Scan

Option A: Use Image Capture (Built into macOS)

Connect your printer to your Mac (Wi-Fi or USB).

Open Image Capture (find it in Applications > Utilities).

Select your printer on the left. You can scan directly here without HP software.

Option B: Use HP Smart App (Recommended for Sonoma)

Download HP Smart from the Mac App Store.

Open HP Smart, add your printer, and use its scanning feature.

It's usually more stable and modern than HP Easy Scan.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
