After a few years of working today my HP Envy 5540 keeps displaying the following error Error Code oxb**bleep**89e4. I’m running the printer on Wireless connection and have tried various troubleshooting methods recommended such as disconnecting for a minute, removing the ink cartridges, checking the paper tray etc . . . Still no luck. The message just started to appear as I could not print something from one of my laptops, now every time it starts it has the error code. Any ideas?

Hi @NigeBW,
I'd like to help!
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Use the control panel to turn off the IPv6 setting.
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup
.
-
Touch Network Setup, and then touch Advanced Settings.
-
Turn off IPv6, and then touch Yes to confirm.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
