My HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 has blinking lights and a solid white display

There are currently several different fresh threads with the same problem described.

HP needs to advise on path forward as this seems to be some sort of systemic issue relating to this model / firmware. 

When reset, all the functions of the printer work fine until it again goes into this hung state with the white screen and all the lights flashing.

I have not received any correspondence from HP support to date.  Should I be expecting something soon on this topic as my printer continues to go into this blinking lights state daily.
