Hi @Stanley4567,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer may need to be reconfigured to connect to your computer or network properly. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and get your HP OfficeJet 5222 printer back up and running.

  • Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected between your printer and your computer or network router. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart Your Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting your printer and computer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
  • Check Printer Settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the settings menu. Look for options related to connectivity or network settings. Ensure that the printer is set up to connect via the correct method (USB, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: If your printer is connected to your computer via USB, ensure that the printer drivers are correctly installed. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. If it's a network printer, make sure your computer is connected to the same network.
  • Print a Network Configuration Page: Many printers, including the HP OfficeJet series, have a function to print a network configuration page. This page contains important information about the printer's network settings, such as its IP address. Printing this page can help you verify that the printer is properly connected to your network.
  • Reset Network Settings: If you're still having trouble, you can try resetting the printer's network settings to default. This will erase any existing network configurations, so you'll need to reconnect the printer to your network afterward.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the connectivity issue with your HP OfficeJet 5222 printer and get it working again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
