HP Smart will not load. The cursor just keeps spinning.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

 

The app might be hung up on the network, hung or trapped on the connection to the printer, or perhaps the application is tangled in app data in your user account.

 

If not already done,

Try / Consider

  • Run / Check Windows Updates
  • Restart everything, including the router that controls your network
  • Open / Check HP Smart for any difference in behavior.

No Joy? 

  • Stop the app -- Won't stop?  Restart the computer and log in

 

  • Reset the HP Smart application - this removes that pesky app data in your user account.
  • Check the app...

No Joy? 

  • Uninstall HP Smart
  • Restart the computer and log in
  • "Get" a fresh copy of the HP Smart app from Microsoft Store

 

What else?

Consider...

  • Change the printer connection to TCP/IP
  • Check -- and if needful --  Update HP Smart on every device where it is installed.  Why?  Outdated versions of the app on other devices, even mobile devices, can contribute to the application getting tangled during the sign in on Windows.
  • Odd - possible - Use the Firefox or Safari browser on iOS / iPadOS to sign into the HP Smart application.
