HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

HP Office Jet Pro 8130e doesn't perint from computer.  Prints from iphone.  Checked all connections and shut down both machines.  Reinstalled printer to computer. Computer now recognizes printer but materials are sent to queue where they just keep running and never print  It won't even print a test page.  Both machines are recognized by the wifi.

I am frustrated!!

Hi @caz219

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear you— when the print queue turns into a black hole, it’s maddening.

Since your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e prints from your iPhone but not your computer, we know the printer and Wi-Fi are working. So let’s zero in on the Windows side and clear out the digital cobwebs.

Clear the Print Queue

  1. On your computer, go to:
Control Panel → Devices and Printers
  2. Right-click your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e and select:
    “See what’s printing”
  3. In the new window, click Printer → Cancel All Documents
  4. Restart your computer and printer.

Reset the Print Spooler

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Stop.
  3. Open File Explorer and go to:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  4. Delete all files in that folder.
  5. Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and choose Start.

Check Printer Port & Driver

  1. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Printer Properties.
  2. Under the Ports tab:
    • Make sure the selected port matches your printer’s IP address.
    • If unsure, print a Network Configuration Page from the printer.
  3. Visit HP’s driver page and install the latest drivers and firmware for your model.

Run HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Click your printer → Diagnose & Fix
  • Let it run and follow any prompts to resolve issues.

Bonus Checks

  • Set the printer as default in Windows.
  • Disable any third-party firewalls or antivirus temporarily.
  • Try printing a PDF or Word doc — some formats behave differently.

If it still won’t budge, let me know what shows in the queue (e.g., “Printing” or “Error – Printing”) and whether the printer display shows anything unusual.

We’ll keep digging until it’s sorted — you’ve got the patience of a saint, and I’m here to make sure it pays off.
