I have connected this printer to my computer before with no problem.
Now I get the message "GET /DevMgmt/DiscoveryTree.xml" repeated page after page.
The printer automatically inserts half the next page so when I print a page, it gives half the page on one page and the bottom on the second page.
I see people in the past have had this problewm with earlier versions of Windows but some have said it does not work.

@beachsunm
Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand, you're getting an error message while trying to print,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
- When was the last time it worked without these issues?
Please perform the below steps:
Click on Start > Search for Control Panel > Go to Hardware and Sound> Device and Printers > Right click on the printer driver > Printer Properties > Advanced > Separator Page > Clear the space > Okay.
Once the above step is done, please perform the below steps and then try printing:
-
Click Start > Search for Control Panel > Go to Hardware and Sound> Device and Printers.
-
Right-click the HP 6980 driver icon and select Printer Properties from the drop-down menu.
-
Click the Device Settings tab.
-
Under Installable option set the following option:
-
Printer status notification: Disabled.
-
-
Click Apply and then OK.
-
Close the print driver windows.
Keep me posted for further assistance,
If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,
Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day!
