Hi @CHIPCARR
It sounds like a frustrating experience, but let’s work through this together to resolve the issue.
The "package is damaged" error often occurs due to macOS security settings or compatibility issues. Here’s how you can address it:
Allow Apps from Identified Developers:
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the Security section and look for the message about the blocked app.
- Click Allow Anyway to bypass the restriction for the HP software package.
Re-download the Software:
- Delete the current installer file from your Downloads folder.
- Visit the HP Support page and download the software again. Ensure you’re downloading the version compatible with macOS Sequoia 15.3.2.
Use HP Easy Start:
- Download the HP Easy Start tool from HP’s website. This tool simplifies the installation process and ensures compatibility with your macOS version.
Check for macOS Updates:
- Go to System Settings > General > Software Update and ensure your macOS is fully updated. Apple often releases patches to address compatibility issues.
Try AirPrint:
- If the software installation continues to fail, check if your printer supports AirPrint.
- Remove the printer from Printers & Scanners, then re-add it using the AirPrint protocol.
Let me know how these steps work for you or if you need further assistance! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @Namaste-Me
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems the macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 update has caused compatibility issues with the HP Envy 7640 printer software.
Let's resolve this by updating or reconfiguring the printer software to work with your updated macOS:
1. Download the Latest Printer Software
Visit the HP Support website Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support and search for the HP Envy 7640.
Look for software and driver updates specifically for macOS Sequoia (15.3.2).
If you can’t find Sequoia-compatible drivers, try downloading the latest version available—it often works across multiple macOS versions.
2. Remove the Printer from System Preferences
Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
Select your HP Envy 7640, then click the “-” button to remove it.
Restart your Mac to clear any lingering conflicts.
3. Install the Latest Version of HP Easy Start
Download the HP Easy Start tool from HP’s website. It simplifies printer setup and ensures you get the appropriate software for your macOS version.
Run the tool and follow the steps to reinstall your printer.
4. Check for Apple Software Updates
Go to System Settings > General > Software Update to ensure macOS has the latest updates for printer compatibility. Apple often includes generic drivers for popular devices.
5. Add the Printer Back
After updating the drivers, return to Printers & Scanners and click the “+” button to add your HP Envy 7640 again.
Select it from the list and ensure the correct driver is being used.
6. Test Printing
Print a simple document to confirm everything is working.
7. Try AirPrint (if Drivers Aren’t Available)
If no compatible drivers are found, check if your printer supports AirPrint:
Remove the printer, add it again, and choose “AirPrint” as the driver option during the setup.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
