My MacBook Pro OS 10.15.7 recognized my new HP Deskjet 2855e but it won't join the network

I bought a new HP Deskjet 2855e for use with a MacBook Pro OS 10.15.7. It won't install on my Xfinity network. The printer spit out a WPS PIN # but I have no idea where to enter this info on my computer. It made copies I needed but printing from my laptop is not working. I do not want to spend $2500+ to upgrade TO A NEW COMPUTER. Anybody have some advice? I'm going through many posts but I haven't found any help yet, thanks!

WPS pin is an item you enter into the modem or router when the modem does not have a physical button to press

Use either the WPS push button or the PIN method of WPS to configure a printer

The above dialog box is in the Arris modem and you would enter the WPS pin and then click on the submit button

I recommend you connect the printer to the modem or router.  Watch the video and if necessary reset the printer

This is useful if there is no modem or you do not want to give someone access to your modem but you want to let them print something.

Let me know if you have a flex system (WiFi boosters or repeaters) as the setup is much more complicated.

Thanks for responding! I have an Xfinity tower and the fastest connection possible. I've done all the protocols suggested. I'm a graphic designer who should have done more research. At this point I'm glad I didn't spend more money on the new HP Deskjet 2855e. The person on my chat was kind but we got disconnected, and I didn't get a link that would connect me so I gave up and went to bed!
