I am having exactly the same issue as described here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/My-Printer-is-not-showing-on-Hp-Smart-A...
When I have unpacked and connected my new printer, opened HP Smart app and it has dected the printer on the network and 'connected' it. Everything is running just fine but when i go to My Account and Manage Hp Account to change my printer email.
It is showing NO owned printers. My Printer is a HP Color Laser Jet MFP M283fdw. Any solutions would be appreciated. I have already followed the advice from the previous thread, no luck. HP Smart shows the printer (but with '?' icon and 'some features are not available', I can print, but printer itself does not show up as 'linked to my account/owned by me' so I cannot effectively manage it (i.e. change assigned email. So i'm out of ideas. Since its not showing up in My Account i can't change the printer email. Thanks

Hi @Dusha999,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is not showing up as owned by you in the HP Smart app and you're unable to manage it in your HP account, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Update HP Smart App: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app. Go to the app store on your mobile device or the HP website to check for updates and install the latest version if available.
Reinstall HP Smart App: Uninstall the HP Smart app from your mobile device and then reinstall it. After reinstalling, go through the setup process again and check if your printer is recognized correctly.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
- Allow the printer to go through its startup process.
Factory Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset on the printer. Note that this will erase any custom settings, so make sure to reconfigure the printer afterward.
- Consult the printer's manual or HP support documentation for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Check Network Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the same network as your mobile device. If there are any connectivity issues, troubleshoot the network connection.
Manual Email Configuration: If the HP Smart app is still not recognizing your printer, you may need to manually configure the email settings on the printer itself. Consult the printer manual for instructions on how to set up email features directly on the printer.
Remember to double-check the HP Smart app and printer settings after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi, I have tried all the suggested steps below, Also I have tried adding the printer through Windows HP Smart Print app. Still the same - I can add the printer, install the driver, BUT printer is NOT linking to my account and NOT showing up as 'owned printer', As a result I cannot manage some of the feature (e.g. I can't adjust automatically assigned email address)
Screenshot 1:
Printer is added through the Windows HP Smart App and showing up. I can print, scan, etc.
Screenshot 2:
Same printer when added in mobile app. You can see that it is not fully identified, some featured are reported as not available
Screenshot 4:
Owned printers do not show the printer (so it's not effectively linked to my HP account).

I have tried:
1. Reinstall HP Smart app on Android
2.Tried using Windows HP Smart app insead
3. Reset the printer as per instructiuons below
4. Facoty reset the printer using Setup>Service>Restore defaults (I don't know if any other reset procedures can be used)
5. Network configuration is OK, printer is discoverable, HP Web services are enabled and successfully connected
