Hi @David29036

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that your system is no longer showing up on your printer. Do not worry, we are here to help you with it.

  • Did you make any changes to your printer?
  • May I know if you get any error codes or messages?
  • When was the last time it was working fine?
  • Are you able to print from other devices?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:  Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow the steps from the link: Click here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I made no changes to my printer.  I don't get any error codes or messages.  It was working fine a few months ago.  I can print from any device.
It doesn't sound like you understand my question.  Prior to this issue, I could see the printer in Windows Explorer as a device on the network.  I could see the flash drive plugged into the printer USB port.  I could access the flash drive from Explorer to get directly to files that I just scanned.  Now, I have to remove the USB flash drive, put it into my PC, and work from there.
I believe the device went missing sometime around doing a Windows or HP update.

Thanks for your response.

Do not worry, we have understood the issue and it seems like driver conflicts.

Let's perform Root-level uninstallation and check if the issue persists:

  • Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer-related folders & files. To reinstall, click here.

Along with that, I would suggest you update the USB driver for your system.

Once done, let me know the outcome of it.

Thanks!
