My computer says that it cannot find my wireless printer. The printer shows it's connected to the wireless network and the router shows the device connected on the expected static IP and I verified the MAC address matches. This has worked for years but it hasn't been able to connect for the last couple of weeks. It seems like everything else can talk to the router wirelessly including my computer. I've tried restarting the router, printer and computer (in that order if it matters) multiple times but no luck. When I enter the IP of the printer in the browser it just times out. I even tried connecting to the router via ethernet and that doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
Follow-up: I installed the software on my laptop and it was able to connect to the printer, print, and scan. When I enter the IP address on the laptop the embedded web server page comes up. This suggests everything is good with the printer but I'm wondering if a windows update may have affected how the software is working. Both my laptop and desktop are running windows 10. I thought about reinstalling the software/drivers but, if that's all it is, the embedded web server page should still come up. Also tried emailing the printer and that works as well.
What in the Windows configuration could be blocking it printer on one windows 10 machine but not another since they're both going through the same router / wi-fi network?

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
Let's try to restore the printer to the network defaults and then run the wireless setup wizard on the printer to the connect to the network.
To reset the printer's network settings
1. Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.
2. Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, select Reports, and then select Print Network Configuration Page to print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.
Now run the wireless setup wizard to connect the printer on the network:
The Wireless Setup Wizard provides an easy way to set up and manage a wireless connection to your printer from the printer control panel.
1. Set up the printer hardware. See the getting started guide or the setup poster that came with your printer.
2. On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network.
3. Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.
4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
Now let's uninstall the printer from the root level and then reinstall it by following the steps below:
- Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
- Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
- Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
- Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
- Now check for issue resolution.
- If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Please click here to download and install the software.
- In the connection type window, select “Wireless” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
