My default printer change without warning to HPePrint + Jet Advantage and wouldn't print documents.

I have only one printer and my default printer changed without warning to HPePrint + Jet Advantage. it wouldn't print so I change the default back to my usual HP ENVY 5530 series setting and I can print. Why the change?

Preparation > Check / enable the printer as the “Default Printer”

Settings > Devices > Printers and scanners

UNCHECK (clear box) Let Windows manage my default printer

Select (Left-Click) your printer from the list of printers > Manage > Set as Default

Thanks for this, most helpful.

I was trying to print a PDF from an email when this first happened - maybe it was because I was using Microsoft Edge and Windows decided that HPePrint would be better.......... By the way, HPePrint + Jet Advantage still show in the list of Printers and Scanners in Settings. Is it safe to remove/delete that device given that I want good old HP ENVY 5530 as my default?

A device listed in Devices and Printers can be removed if the particular entry is unwanted.

Be careful that you don't remove a printer or related device that you want to keep.
