Product: HP 8715
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Hp Officejet 8715 pro. Ita been working fine for a few years. out of no where its displaying as the 8710 in the printer details and on the computer. what should i do? (i tried uninstalling and re installing, also updating to the latest drivers)

You do not need to worry. It falls under the same series of 8710.
