Product: HP Envy 5000 printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

It looks there is a software problem. The printer runs fine on my laptop but the old desktop on Windows XP does not accept the software. Thanks for any help. Elisabeth

Hi,

Download and install the printer using below drivers:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/EN5000/EN5000_Basicx86_44.4.2678.exe

 

For any issues, make sure your operating system has Service Pack 3 installed, it is not supported on any earlier service pack.

Also, be aware it is supported on 32-bit OS only, not on 64-bit versions of older operating systems
