I have the same firmware: MAVEDWPP1N001.2132A.00
With a new M1 Mac there is only the AirPrint driver that does not work.
With an Intel Mac I installed both drivers Airprint and HP drivers. The Airprint driver only outputs boxes. The HP driver works.
MacOS 11.5.2 on both.

Hi @Kaempofi ,
May you able to install an HP driver on the M1 Mac using HP Easy Admin to install the HP Essential Software?
Try following HP Easy Admin below to install the HP Essential Software and check if it completes, then add the printer and select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu:

Please let me know the results,
Shlomi

Regrettably I had the same issues. Tried everything according to the manual of HP but no success. Contacted HP reseller and also mic rosoft reseller but they failed to resolve the problem. The printer was printing squares full ogbquestion marks. Funny enough, I could have printed from the internet clearly and print photos but not document. My printer is HP page wide Pro 477 dw. At rhe end, I installed the printer on another computer that runs on Windows and it worked fine, and bought Brother MFC 3750 and installed on the Mac and it worked instantly. HP should communicate with Apple to resolve the problem of Big Sur.

I am seeing the same issue and have the most recent firmware I have narrowed it down to a problem with secure AirPrint and O365. If I add the printer with a generic network printer port and HP driver sending right to the printer IP it works fine. So that is the work around I have in place now waiting on Apple, Microsoft, or HP to figure out the issue of secure AirPrint and O365.

Hi Shlomil,
There are updates on the drivers I guess as my printers current firmware version became MAVEDWPP1N001.2132A.00.
Also, recently Apple os Big Sur submit an update which I've installed and loaded already. Now, it seems no issue remained! fingers crossed....

Hi @BFateha,
Could you clarify your intention with "it didn't work" please?
Were you able to download and install the HP Essential Software using HP Easy or may you got any specific error or behavior during the installation process?
Upon the software installation, are you able to select the printer model from within the Use drop-down menu? is the printer model listed there then?

Software was installed without any problem.. followed instructions to the letter, and got the message “installation complete” ,Test print paper came perfect, but when I tried to print a word document, it printed grey squares. Tried to print a complex word document with photo inserted in the document and the photo printed perfectly in color, but all words came grey squares. Tried to print PowerPoint graph with words and numbers, the graph (pie) came perfect but all words and numbers came grey squares with question marks inside the squares. Same with Excel: grey squares all the way.
copied the word document on USB memory chip, and printed the document directly through the USB port of the printer and it printed perfectly.
I believe these are the complete details.
As we cannot afford any delays, we disabled the HP printer and rerouted the Mac work to Brother and Lexmark printers and they work without any problem. We assigned the HP to other computers running Windows 10, to avoid further headache.
