@Mruvalcaba, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Firmware Update Issue on HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e printer is stuck on the firmware update screen and cannot proceed, here are steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the Power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord and wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on. Check if the issue is resolved.

Step 2: Reset Network Settings

Since the Wi-Fi password changed, you will need to reset the network settings to reconnect to the new Wi-Fi network.

  1. Restore Wi-Fi setup mode: Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode. You can usually do this by holding the Wi-Fi button and continuing as per the specific instructions for your model.
  2. Connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network: Follow the Wireless setup wizard on the control panel to select your network and enter the new password.

Step 3: Update Firmware Manually

If the printer is still stuck, you may try updating the firmware manually using a computer.

Download the firmware update:

Install the firmware:

  • Connect your printer to the computer using a USB cable.
  • Run the firmware update file and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware manually.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
