My printer status on my HP Officejet 3830 say "unknown", But it will allow me to print. Yet the HP smart app on my Samsung A10e will show the printer status. I ran the printscan dr and i fixed all the issues or so it said i did. As i said i can print but i don't know why it wont tell me the status of the printer. When i add a printer it is strange but my printer shows up twice. one is the original Officejet the other is the same but says copy 1. i have the latter as default. Also it seems i have to click print twice to get it to print the 1st time it does nothing the second time it prints. I don't know what is happening here i have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but not since i ran the scan dr. So maybe i need to do that but I don't think that will help. I even called hp and they had no idea what to do. So has anyone ever encountered this strange problem and know how to fix it. Also the cartridges in the printer are not hp brand if that has any bearing on what is happening I don't know. So to summarize the only real problem is that it will not show the printer status on my pc windows 10 OS but it will show the status on my phone.

I'm having the same issue. I had the app on the desktop but it stopped working and wants me to use the hp smart app. I won't let me unstall and reinstall. The scan wont work. It will print but as you said show two printer etc. I'm so frustrated. Tried to get help with HP but want me to pay 99.xx. This is more than what i paid. Warranty just expired. Fax is not working anymore either. I can't update the software or nothing!  Please help
