Greetings,
My settings on my laptop state driver unavailable when I try to add my printer.
HPC40F65 HP Envy photo 7800 series
Note the printer was added and recognized in the past. So driver probably needs updating.
I have tried lots of things but I can't get the driver loaded.

Hi @SRiley98

It sounds like your HP Envy Photo 7800 series printer is facing a driver issue on your laptop.
Here's how you can resolve it:
Step 1: Uninstall the Existing Driver
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Locate your printer, click on it, and select Remove device.
- Open Device Manager, expand Printers, and uninstall any drivers related to your HP Envy Photo 7800.
Step 2: Download the Latest Driver
- Visit the HP Support page for your printer model. Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support
- Select your operating system (Windows 11) and download the latest driver package.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
Step 3: Re-add the Printer
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for your printer to appear.
- Select your printer and click Add device.
Step 4: Update Firmware
- While on the HP Support page, check for firmware updates for your printer. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
- Download and install the firmware update to ensure compatibility.
Step 5: Test the Connection
- Open a document or file and press Ctrl + P.
- Select your printer and try printing to confirm the driver is working.
