In case anybody runs into this: I'm installing HP Easy Start on my MacBook running MacOS 14 Sonoma (not listed as an option here - options are not up to date) and there is a mysterious blank field on the installer screen that mentions the research study. I eventually just typed numbers in order (12345, it adds a dash, then 6789 I think) and it allowed me to continue.
