I have an old HP PHOTOSMART A826 printer and need software and drivers for it. HP no longer updates this model.

HP has retired support for that model printer.

 

This reputable 3rd party driver site has the drivers HP used to supply for your printer.

there was too many scam links trying to get you to download for something else and not what I was seeking. didnt know which download link I needed.

Yes, you have to make sure you don't click on pop-ups and what not.

 

This looks like the latest driver they have:

 

Click on the green download bar you see below the description of the file.

Then the only other option you have on that site is to try the Basic Driver for Vista and XP:
