HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently I upgraded the firmware of my HP Deskjet InkAdvantage 2645 printer to the latest firmware and shortly after the black ink cartridge depleted. I refilled the same cartridge and the printer could not recognize the same cartridge it was using before and so I ordered a new printer cartridge from HP and that is not working either. I think this might be related to the firmware upgrade. I need a way to downgrade the firmware on the printer or be able to reset it to factory settings. Things I have tried include disconnecting the power cord while the printer is switched on and waiting 60 seconds before power cable is attached back to the printer, cleaning the cartridge and carriage copper connections. I have also tried HP scan doctor which did not do anything.

Hi@vk_22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

There is no option to downgrade the firmware of the printer.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
