HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M181fw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

When printing I get a popup that I can install new firmware on my MFP M181fw, but when I click to install it, I am prompted for an admin password. I own the printer for 5 years now and I can't remember how I configured it or whether I changed passwords or kept everything default. I do have a Wifi direct password configured, but that doesn't get me into the settings or doesn't allow me to install new firmware.

I do like to keep my hardware security up to date, so I feel it's rather important to upgrade the firmware.

Do you have any solutions for this?

Kind regards!
