Hi @Jim759

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It can be frustrating when a new printer refuses to connect to Wi-Fi. Let’s work through some steps to resolve this issue with your HP Smart Tank 7302:

1. Restart Devices

  • Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the network connection.
  • Computer: Restart your Windows 11 laptop to clear any temporary glitches.

2. Restore Network Settings

  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings. This will reset the Wi-Fi configuration.

3. Enable Wi-Fi Setup Mode

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking. This puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.

4. Use the HP Smart App

  • Download the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 laptop.
  • Open the app, select Add Printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

5. Check Wi-Fi Compatibility

  • Ensure your printer is connecting to a 2.4 GHz network, as it may not support 5 GHz networks.
  • Place the printer within 6–8 feet of the router for optimal signal strength.

6. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for and install the latest firmware updates for your printer. Firmware updates can resolve connectivity issues.

7. Disable VPN or Firewall

  • If you’re using a VPN or firewall on your laptop, temporarily disable it while setting up the printer. These can sometimes block the connection.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
