New 9018 all in one printer FAX option doesn't show up in Print dialogue box so can't fax from lapto
01-18-2021 04:26 PM

I just installed a new HP 9018 all in one printer with a wireless connection. I try to fax a document from the computer and there is not a printer FAX option in the Print dialogue box. I can send and receive a fax directly from the printer. I can print a document from my computer to the printer. But there is no printer fax option to fax a document from my computer, in the print pulldown dialogue box. I uninstalled the printer and the app and reinstalled. Still no printer fax option in the print dialogue box, only the printer's print option. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks!

Hi,
Please follow HP Easy Start by selecting the Basic or Full Feature software during the Software Selection screen, complete the installation and then you should see an added copy of your printer starting with Fax:

Thank you ShlomiL! This worked! However the dialogue box and text for the scanner is so small I can hardly read it. The printer assistant box and text is quite small as well. Can you help with this issue please? I'm attaching a photo so you can see what I mean. Thanks so much!

You're welcome @bcantrellfam
Hi,
Please make sure the DPI Settings are set as normal (100%). The HP Software supports 100% DPI only
Windows 10:
Right click the Desktop background area and select Display Settings.
Ensure that "Change the size of text, apps and other items" is set as 100%.
Also, what is the shown Display Resolution?
If the DPI value was changed, apply the changes and Reboot or Re-Logon as required, then check for any difference.
Please let me know of any change,
Shlomi
