HP Photosmart C4680
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

First in German (zuerst auf Deutsch):

Hallo,

Now in Englisch (jetzt auf Englisch):

Because of the problems mentioned in my post from 2019, I bought an HP Photosmart C4680 instead. But am no longer able to print. Either documents do not end up in the queue with HP Smart Doctor printer status "Offline", or I get the message "An unexpected configuration problem has occurred on your printer 0x80004005". The printer is a Photosmart C4680. I have an ASUS PRO5DI notebook which I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 32-bit. Since then, my printing function doesn't work, and the scanner does not work at all.

I've already restarted the printer, reinstalled the driver, executed sfc / scannow, restarted the computer ...

What kind of problem is it with this printer? I have the HP SmartScan and the HP doctor app ( both didn't work). I tried to installed the Driver from here, but it says it still does not detect my Printer (although it is connected with the cable mentioned in the app). Can anyone help me (I am from Germany and my mother tongue is German)?

Best regards

Ram

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Let me know if this helps.
