HP Photosmart D7160 Printer

New, just unboxed older model Photosmart D7160, stuck on Initialization Beginning. I did all the steps to reset, didnt work. Then I pressed the "ok" button and "home button" at the same time then it said "start printing" but nothing is happening.

Try these steps:

Check for Packaging Material:

  • Ensure that all packaging material, including tapes and protective covers, has been removed from the printer. Sometimes residual packaging can interfere with the initialization process.

Printer Reset:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Wait 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
  • Turn the printer back on to see if it initializes properly.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and seated properly. Double-check that you are using the correct cartridges for initialization, as mentioned in unboxing guides for HP printers.

Inspect for Hardware Issues:

  • Open the printer and inspect for any visible hardware issues, such as jammed printheads or dislodged components that might prevent the printer from initializing.

Printer Port Configuration:

  • Check the printer port configuration on your computer to ensure that the printer is correctly recognized. Sometimes incorrect port settings may prevent communication between the computer and printer.

Firmware Update:

  • Visit the HP support site to check if there are any firmware updates available for the Photosmart D7160. Updating the firmware might resolve any bugs related to initialization.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any error messages on the printer display that might provide insights into the issue.
