Brought a lightly used Deskjet F4280 to my office from home loaded with fresh inks and tried to connect it to my Lenovo desktop computer using the original installation disc. WHAM! Typical HP! The Lenovo OS is Windows 7-64 and NOT COMPATIBLE with the F4280 printer and no longer supported by HP. The printer, even though lightly used, is now JUNK and about to meet it's fate in the garage like the printer in "OFFICE SPACE". Never had an Epson, but heard only good things about them; will check them out later today. Good Luck to all the rest of you HP users. Hawk47

Most printers eventually fall by the wayside for support.
This model has been around since 2008.
In printer years, 2008 to 2024 is a long time.
True - the printer has not been supported with full drivers for some time.
When you switch to another brand, if you choose older equipment, make sure the hardware is still supported at least with Windows Print Drivers -- that is generally the last fall-back before the printer is not supported at all.
