Hi @Sarah81j,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP printer is displaying a "Setup Incomplete" message. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Ensure Printer is On: First, make sure that your printer is turned on.

Lift Cartridge Access Door: Gently open the cartridge access door until it locks into place.

Restart Printer: At the rear of the printer, press and hold the Power and Wireless buttons for 5 seconds.

Wait for Restart: Allow 2-3 minutes for the printer to restart. Check if the "Setup Incomplete" error no longer displays.

Close Cartridge Access Door: If the error persists, close the cartridge access door.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Close the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device, then reopen it.

  • Remove your printer from the HP Smart app by right-clicking or long-pressing the printer name and selecting "Hide Printer."

  • Confirm by clicking "Hide Printer" again.

  • Add the printer back by clicking "Add Printer" or the plus sign.

Set Up on Wi-Fi: Select your printer from the list of available printers and follow the instructions to set it up on a Wi-Fi network. When prompted, press the blinking Information button on the control panel.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
