Hi @Tamueller

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing the issue—I’m really sorry your printer shows as connected but won’t print. That’s incredibly frustrating, especially when everything looks fine on the surface. You’ve already done the right thing by checking the connection.

Let’s walk through a few focused steps to restore printing from your computer.

Step-by-Step: Fix Printer Not Printing Despite Connection

1. Clear the Print Queue and Reset Status

  • Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  • Right-click your printer > See what’s printing.
  • Cancel any stuck jobs.
  • Go to Printer > Use Printer Offline and make sure it’s unchecked.

2. Set the Printer as Default

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click your printer > Set as default.
  • Try printing a test page from Printer Properties > Print Test Page.

3. Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click > Restart.
  • Close the window and try printing again.

4. Reinstall the Printer

  • In Printers & scanners, click your printer > Remove.
  • Open the HP App, tap Add Printer, and follow the setup steps.
  • Confirm the printer shows as Ready and Connected.

5. Update the Printer Driver

  • Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Printers or Print queues.
  • Right-click your printer > Update driver > Search automatically.
  • Restart your computer after the update.
