No Windows Server 2019 x64 driver for HP OfficeJet 8720 available

Hi,

I have a HP OfficeJet 8720 connected to ethernet in my home office and I am running W10 on my computer. Everything works fine.

When starting a RDP session to my companies Windows Server 2019 based terminal server I cannot use my local HP 8720 as printer as not fitting driver is installed on the terminal server (Win2019).

I already did a test by installing the Server 2012 x64 driver, but it doesn't print correctly.

Question: where to get a x64 driver supporting Windows server 2019 and how to install it correctly?

Hi,

No official support is provided for Windows Server 2019 for your printer.

You may try installing the drivers using an MSIEXEC command and check if that works, although this was tested on Server 2016 or earlier, but may work on 2019 too:

See the 'Customize the installation' section to extract and install the following driver using the command line:

Hi ShlomiL,

thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately printing doesn't work even with the 2016 driver. In our company we have more of the HP OJ 8720 printers.

Hmm, I am disappointed as this printer is quite new and has no support for actual MS Server 2019.

Any hints are welcome!
