OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

Can someone tell me wether it is possible to install this printer on any Windows Server?

PCL5 / 6 or PS doesn't work either.

I have tried to install on the following servers:

- Server 2008

- Server 2008 x64

- Server 2008 R2 x64

- Server 2012

The only thing I managed to do was to install the driver for the Officejet Pro 8620 on a Server 2008 x64, but I can't manage to print anything, the printer just doesn't react to the print job.

Lately we are having more and more problems finding any suitable drivers for the last few printers we bought.

This is realy annoying since these printers are targetted specifically for the business segment.

Best Regards

Bert Geraerts

Hi,

Appologies for jumping in @Valsimot.

@Geraerb- The OJ 8710 is supported on a server OS, however the installation method is different and have to be done using an MSIEXEC command.

Download the drivers from HP.com and extract them, then follow the 'Customize the installation' section below to install the drivers:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03351547

Using a PCL 5, 6 or PS drivers won't be applicable as the 8710 uses the PCL 3 print language..

Also be sure to review the 'Installing on Windows Servers' section as some different features might need to be installed on the server to allow scanning or Plug&Play USB connection..

The HP Officejet pro 86XX series was supported in Windows Server OS, later introduced models HP Officejet pro 87XX series are not supported for servers.

For now, there are no drivers for OJ Pro 87xx series to be functional on server OS.

Hi! This helped me a lot, although I'm receiving an error in the last command. I'm trying to install my printer via wireless instalation.

The command: START /WAIT /D-C:\Program Files\HP\HPOfficeJet7510series\Bin\DeviceSetup.exe /networkaddress 192.168.56.96

The error:  invalid option - "/networkaddress".

Can you help me?
