Why is there no colour option when I try to print on my Envy 4520 printer?

Hi,

Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Hi, thanks for the reply - I do appreciate it. The test page worked in colour flawlessly, unfortunately the colour option on my word document is still not there? The software did install a lot of updates, but it hasn't resolved this issue.

What printer is selected from Word’s print dialog? Please click the list and ensure there are no multiple instances of your printer listed there.

Hello,

When printing - there are two printer options for the same printer, one  states DO NOT DELETE (this is set as the default).

However if I go into devices, there is only one printer available.

When printing - If I choose the printer that is not set to default, it will actually have a colour option. So this does work, but something is obviously still not right. How can I set the default printer to the second option when only one is available to choose?

Hi,

Right-click the DO NOT Delete instance under Devices and Printers, from there you should see an arrow under Set as Default, within this arrow you should see both of the printers and should be able to select the other one, as shown by below example:
