The HP software will not allow me to remove a printer from my computer. I have several old ones listed. The website renders no results found on removing a printer. There is only the option to add a new one. If I remove it from my Mac preferences, will it remove it from my HP software? I feel like this shouldn't be so difficult.

Hi @Colbitok,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Open System Preferences:
- Click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen and select System Preferences.
Access Printers & Scanners:
- In the System Preferences window, click on Printers & Scanners.
Select the Printer:
- In the left pane, you will see a list of all installed printers.
- Select the printer you want to remove.
Remove the Printer:
- Click the “-” (minus) button below the list of printers to remove the selected printer from your system.
- Confirm the removal if prompted.
Impact on HP Software
- HP Smart App:
- Removing a printer from the macOS preferences should update what is visible in the HP Smart app as well. The app generally reflects the printers that are actively set up on your device.
I hope this helps.
